Pepco Holding, Inc. (POM) is an energy company which has 1.9 million customers in new Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C.. PHI has 3 subsidiaries which provide electric power: Delmarva, Atlantic City Electric and Pepco. In addition, Delmarva Power supplies natural gas.
Pepco is a Fortune 500 company. Pom’s stock has been going up since April 2009. It has risen from $10.36 to $19.80 at a fairly steady rate. Also the company gives dividends. The market capitalization is $4.47 billion and the Enterprise value is $9.32 Billion. As far as management effectiveness is concerned the Return on Assets is 2.66% and the Return on Equity is 5.86%. These are ok numbers but not great. The quarterly growth, year over year, was a minus 20.5% and that requires investigation. Profitability rated a profit margin of 4.37% and and operating margin of 9.88%.
