It seems it’s no longer humans and cats who are being DNA tested these days. There is now the possibility for testing the DNA of diamonds, resulting in accruing details of “diamond diagrams, plotting of inclusions, photographs (high resolution images), AGS parameters and many more, along with generating consumer confidence in the product that consumers are buying.”
Diamond DNA Good for Business
This new research can only spell good news for the entire diamond industry. The expectation is that this could lead to increased “consumer confidence in diamonds” should they become “as popular as other luxury goods.” Having access to as many details as possible – whether the consumer chooses to acquiesce this or not – is a confidence-booster which could lead to increased purchase and “greater customer satisfaction.”
Israeli Diamonds Head Out to Baselworld 2011
Later this month 16 Israeli diamond exporters will be taking part in the Baselworld 2011 show (the main diamond and jewelry event for Europe as well as a great meeting place for worldwide traders). Other companies from the country will be “using facilities provided by the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) to be active at BASELWORLD.” It has been said that such a large Israeli turnout from the country “attests to the recovery of the Israeli Diamond Industry” as well as how significant the industry sees this show.
Diamonds: Gossip Girl’s Best Friend
Perhaps now that people know exactly where their diamonds are hailing from there will be even more interest at BASELWORLD which will lead to an escalation in diamond trading at the show. Although it’s hard to imagine women adorned in such jewels to be talking of their origins at the latest top fashion show or premier party. But who knows? Diamonds are a girl’s best friends and “gossip girls” are all the rage these days.
