Amazon has long been debated by internet shoppers as well as other businesses. Its empire is seemingly indestructible though, and so very few, if any, have moved to make a change.
Now, however, a small company has stepped forward.
“Amazon is squeezing everyone out of business,” said Educational Development Corporation’s Randall White. “I don’t like that. They’re a predator. We’re better off without them.”
And with that, the tiny publishing company has pulled out of the internet store, inevitably lowering its yearly sales by $1.5.
However, Amazon’s negative impact on businesses is undeniable. The belief is that by purchasing products from a distributor and then selling the goods at a highly discounted price, Amazon destroys business for other venues selling the identical, though more costly, versions.
“They were becoming showrooms for Amazon,” White said. “We were shooting ourselves in the foot.”
